Q: Why change from ADANIA to Adania & Co?
A: We have thought thoroughly that in order to create more impact for everyone, we need to step up for what we have always believed in along with our core values. So what exactly the word "Co" stands for? The ‘Co’ signifies the company. It also stands for Consumer, Community & Company. We wanted to give back to the community & to contribute in ways that able to benefits not only our skin but also the environment and the nature around us. So that consumers will know that their purchase is with a purpose and that purpose is none other than making our environment more greener & cleaner, aside than creating skin that are healthier

Q : This is my first time coming across with Adania & Co. What exactly Adania & Co products are? And what makes Adania & Co special than other skincare brands?
A: Our products consists of face care (or commonly known as skincare) and body care. We use natural plant based ingredients, organic, vegan, cruelty-free & we aim in making you feel comfortable in your own skin again. Making skin feel & look more healthier

Q: Why is "organic" important in skin care?
A: First, organic is the “real” natural. If you want a truly natural product, buy one that has organic certification on it such as Good Manufacturing Products (GMP). Adania is GMP certified. When we say organic skincare, what we meant is using skin products made of plant derived ingredients along with some other naturally occurring ingredients. These ingredients are grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers, GMO and so on and often come with an Organic certification

Q: What does "certified organic" mean?

A: "Certified organic" means that an independent agency accredited by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has verified that products labelled as "organic" meet strictly defined organic standards, as specified by the National Organic Program (NOP). Both individual products and manufacturing facilities must be certified organic to allow labeling of products as organic or containing organic ingredients.

Q: Do organic products actually contribute to healthier skin?

A: Organic products are most definitely healthier for the skin. Humans have similar metabolism cell and life processes as plants. Taking this into consideration, products from ADANIA & Co are made with plant based ingredients to provide the ideal nutrition required to maintain a youthful complexion and assist in skin regeneration. ADANIA & Co contains nutrients such as antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, herbal extracts, flavonoids, essential fatty acids and polyphenols. Petroleum derivatives, synthetic preservatives, fragrances and colours do not contribute to healthier skin. Synthetic ingredients may be able to perform the same basic functions, but they don’t offer additional therapeutic benefits from the nurturing vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and essential fatty acids

Q: Do you make any products that are hypoallergenic?

A: Hypoallergenic is a marketing term that refers to products formulated without the use of known allergens. Our formulations are 100% natural and leaves out most allergens. However, we do not claim that our products are hypoallergenic because not every person will react the same way to the same product

Q: Do you offer any fragrance-free products?

A: We add no artificial fragrances or colours to our products. What your nose and eyes perceive when you open a bottle of shampoo or moisturizer is the natural scent and colour of the plant and essential oil extracts used in it. Q : Are your products safe for pregnant mothers & babies?

A : Yes certainly! We have always put the importance on clean ingredients that are derived & made from natural plant based sources. All of our ingredients are made with clean ingredients with no artificial preservatives, no artificial fragrances & no artificial colorings. Our Coconut Heaven Nourishing Face Soap are a favorite by moms for their babies, especially for babies with eczema & skin rashes. The particular soap bar is made for sensitive and dry skin. Gentle enough to even be used on babies. Aside than skin care which includes face, body & hair, we would also like to suggest for pregnant mommies to also be wary of day-to-day (daily) household items as well such as fabric detergents, fabric softeners, dish soap & even toothpaste. Perfumes and deodorants too. These are also some of the items we often overlook when it comes to the ingredients.

Q: I just started using your products, why am I breaking out?

A: This may happen when transitioning to very pure products. They help activate the skin, encouraging it to function as intended, which may allow suppressed, underlying conditions to surface. Our products allow skin to breathe and detoxify. As the skin returns to a balanced state, the symptoms will subside. However keep in mind it is possible that you may be allergic to an ingredient in the product. People can be allergic to plant based ingredients, as they can with synthetic ones. Usually an allergic reaction consists of raised bumps and is easy to identify.

Q: What is exfoliation?

A: Exfoliation is a natural process of the skin. Every 21-28 days skin cells are sloughed off and replaced with newer cells. Masks and scrubs containing exfoliants which assist the natural process. There are several different types of exfoliants that are utilized in masks and scrubs. Manual exfoliants include ground nuts, meals and spherical jojoba wax beads. Fruit acid exfoliants dissolve the cellular glue that holds skin cells together to reveal newer, fresher cells. Enzymatic exfoliants actually digest dead skin cells and offer the gentlest form of exfoliation. For a natural plant based exfoliator, we recommend using our face scrub made up of 100% dried gourd plant

Q: How long will I have to use one of your skin care lines before I can tell if it's the right type for me? My skin looks worse now than when I started. What's wrong?

A: The skin goes through a regeneration cycle every 21-28 days (about a month). During this time period your visible layers of skin are completely exfoliated and new layers of skin begin to surface. During the 1st and 2nd weeks of using a new facial care regimen, your skin is detoxifying. It may appear blotchy or you may experience breakouts or mild acne. Not to worry—this is normal. This tells you that your skin is being properly cleansed and that your products are working. The 3rd and 4th weeks of using your new facial care regimen you will find your complexion becoming balanced and visibly clear.

Q: How long until I see a noticeable effect on my skin?

A: It depends on your skin condition, the products used and your lifestyle and diet. A daily regimen of cleansing, toning and moisturizing can produce noticeable effects within several days. We suggest using products for at least one or two weeks to allow skin to acclimate. A healthy diet, exercise and plenty of water will also benefit skin

Q: Do you make anything I can use for acne?

A: Many people with oily skin have benefited from using the range for oily-acne skin type & concerns which also works well on troubled spots. These products are known to reduce acne as it helps in fighting bacteria with its anti-bacterial properties

Q: How often should I wash my face?

A: In general it’s recommended that you wash your face 1-2 times a day, typically in the evening, and if needed in the morning. And exfoliate 1-3 times a week depending on your skin type

Q: Why use face oil and how do they work?

A: Face oil is water free and only contains pure plant oils, rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and other valuable nutrients for the skin. Face oil works by deeply penetrating the skin and delivering these natural plant ingredients. Immediately skin becomes softer and more radiant, and feels velvety soft. After timelines may be softened and skin will have a youthful glow. Face oils are wonderful anti-aging products as they support, protect and help regenerate skin cells. And since they’re all natural, they don’t clog pores

Q: When should I use face oil?

A: Face oil is recommended to be used in the morning. Just blend in a couple drops of face oil and massage around the face area. At night you can also use face oil if you want to depending on the skin condition. However some experts believe that skin should be left free from moisturizer or oil at night – when your skin naturally regenerates to allow it to properly breathe. It is also thought that, at night, your skin can become addicted to using a moisturizer, which slowly halts its own production of moisture

Q: How do I store the face oil to preserve its freshness?

A: Store face oils properly by keeping them out of the sun and in a dark, cool location

Q: Why should I use an organic hair care product instead of a conventional one?

A: Conventional hair care products are typically one of the categories most riddled with plastics, silicones, petrochemicals and other unhealthy ingredients. They're bad for your hair, for your health and for your environment. Organic hair products offer a healthier alternative that can be more therapeutically beneficial for your hair, health and the environment

Q: Some natural shampoos don't seem to lather a great deal. How can a shampoo clean the hair without a lot of lather?

A: Shampoos don't need to generate lots of suds to clean hair effectively. Here's what happens when you shampoo—detergent and soap molecules have two ends: a hydrophilic (water-loving) "head" and a lipophilic (oil-loving) "tail." The oil-loving tails attach to the oil and dirt in your hair. When you rinse, the water-loving heads attach to the rinse water, so the oil and dirt are pulled out of your hair. Lather doesn't really assist the cleansing process, except that it might make it easier for you to feel that your shampoo has been evenly distributed. We've been conditioned to like lather. But many shampoos rely on inexpensive, petrochemically derived detergents such as sodium lauryl / laureth sulphate (SLS), olefin sulfonate and cocamidopropyl betaine for their foam-building properties. These chemicals can dry out the hair and scalp, and may cause allergic reactions as well as environmental problems.

Q: I am having trouble with my hair after using the natural shampoo. My hair becomes dry and stiff. Why is this happening?

A: Just like the skin, our hair can also experience healing crisis and the conditions stated are some of the examples of a healing crisis. This is due to the fact that the natural shampoo is cleaning and cleansing out the chemicals that are trapped in the hair for a long time which resulted in stiffness, dryness and even hair fall for some cases. This is totally normal. Some people experience it for a month or two, or for specific cases, even up to four months, depending on the hair condition. Continue using the natural shampoo to deeply and fully clean the hair.

Q: Do you have any products for the treatment of dandruff, eczema and other scalp conditions?

A: Adania & Co cannot make medical claims for our products, as we are not licensed to diagnose or prescribe treatments for skin or scalp disorders. However, if you suffer from any of these conditions, you should NOT be using products made with petrochemical ingredients. Many people with hair and scalp problems have benefited from using our Black Desert Refreshing Face & Scalp Soap Bar made for skin & as a scalp shampoo.

Q: What do you recommend for eczema?

A: As eczema is often painful and itchy, look for products that will calm and soothe skin with anti-inflammatory ingredients. In terms of preventing eczema flare-ups, they can be triggered by anything from specific foods to the detergent used to wash your clothes, so it's important to try to identify the cause in addition to treating the symptoms. Try using our soap bar made to treat & repair sensitive skin as it is the most gentle and sensitive skin friendly.

Q: My organic body wash doesn't lather as much as my old conventional product. Does this mean it isn't cleaning as well?

A: No, it means that it doesn't contain too harsh chemicals that create bubbles. Organic cleansers use plant-based surfactants to create tight cleansing foam

Q: What is the shelf life of your products?

A: The shelf life of products varies. Products are sealed to help prevent contamination and leakage. Small batches and quick shipment ensure freshness; however, opened products should be used within a year for best results. Short-term exposure to extreme temperature changes can affect the thickness and texture of products, resulting in possible separation; however, the freshness of the product is not compromised. Shaking and/or refrigerating products can restore consistency. Long-term exposure of products to sunlight and/or heat should be avoided because the resulting oxidation may affect freshness.

Q: Is Adania & Co packaging recyclable?

A: Most of our packaging is easily recyclable. Our bottles and tubes are made with high-density polyethylene (HDPE), a widely recyclable plastic, and glass bottle, which are coded on the bottom. We aim for minimal packaging whenever possible—using outside packaging (such as boxes) only when extra protection is needed. Our boxes, too, are made from recyclable cardboard. We print catalogs and other material on 100% recycled paper.

Q: Does Adania & Co products have the certificate and approval from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM)?

A: Yes we do have the approval and certificate from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) for all Adania & Co products.

Q : What are the differences between the latest Rose Glacier Hydrating Face Mist and previous face mists?

A : Our current Rose Glacier Hydrating Face Mist has different & added ingredients. Previously we uses purified-filtered water (aqua). With the latest Rose Glacier Hydrating Face Mist, we replaces purified-filtered water with Swiss Glacier Water. Swiss Glacier Water helps balance the skin barrier, calms skin inflammation and also sensitivity due to the pure rich mineral it contains. We use premium quality rose (Rosa Damascena), Grape Seed Extract and vegetable lecithin. These new unique combination of ingredients packed the face mist with much more added benefits for the skin such as locking in the moisture into skin without leaving any greasy feeling and for much longer. The Rose Glacier Hydrating Face Mist is also much more concentrated compared to the previous ones we had. So a lil' spritz goes a long way and it is why we provide the goodness in 50ml bottle

Q : I previously used Organic Cleansing Oil as my face cleanser due to my very sensitive skin. However, since the product has been discontinued, can you advise which latest face cleanser/range suitable for me?
A : For exclusive treatments of sensitive-dry skin, we recommend a combination usage of Coconut Heaven Nourishing Face Soap as the face cleanser and spritz the Rose Glacier Hydrating Face Mist afterwards to calm, soothe & hydrate the skin. Our Rose Glacier Hydrating Face Mist contains added ingredients to help soothe and calms sensitive skin. However, we recommend the Soothe The Skin set for a more complete & focused care for sensitive-dry skin. Each of the product in Soothe The Skin set works together to rejuvenate the skin and helping to reduce skin sensitivity

Q : I love your clay masks. However, the clay masks has been discontinued. Is the Under The Sea Antioxidant Glow Mask the same as the previous Blue Sea Algae Healing Mask?
A : Under The Sea Antioxidant Glow Mask is different than the Blue Sea Algae Healing Mask. The Under The Sea Antioxidant Glow Mask uses chlorella while the previous Blue Sea Algae Healing Mask uses spirulina. Both chlorella & spirulina is in the algae family. However,
Chlorella’s has more darker green hue which demonstrates that it is richer in chlorophyll than spirulina. In terms of smell, Under The Sea Antioxidant Glow Mask is milder than the Blue Sea Algae Healing Mask. The Under The Sea Antioxidant Glow Mask has this almost smoky-woody smell. Besides that, chlorella has the highest amount of chlorophyll of any known plant. It is loaded with B vitamins, magnesium and zinc, which help calm skin inflammation and promote healthy skin functioning. Chlorella also contains chlorella growth factor (CGF) which assists in cellular health to help maintain healthy skin cells, and give the appearance of smoother, cleaner & youthful looking skin. The Under The Sea Antioxidant Glow Mask has the functions of clay + chlorella, which also cleanses the skin and absorbing toxins away from skin
